For this project, I decided to make a project that represents the different musical genres of the songs that I chose to work with, based on the colors and the art supplies. I used a regular HB pencil for the first song, a blue crayon for the second song, and regular purple paint for the last song. Both the art supplies and colors are good representations of the song’s beats and flows.
For the first song, Falling by Harry Styles, I used an HB pencil because it is simple and does not have any color. I thought this would be essential since the song is also very melancholic song about heartbreak. The next song I chose was Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears– I used a blue crayon for this part because it has a much faster, more upbeat rhythm to it. Lastly, I chose the song 505 by Arctic Monkeys, and decided to stick with purple paint. The musical genre for this is very rock alternative, so I was able to transition from lighter, softer colors and circles to more wider, brighter scribbles.
