Art 004 has changed the way I see the world, especially in how I define art. It has also progressed my understanding of the artistic process. Now, I see art in many different forms, even everyday objects. I understand that art is all about perspective and the way in which we look at different materials. Tinfoil, plastic wrap, and wax paper can all be transformed into art by changing the way they are looked at. I now understand that being a great artist does not coincide with producing original works, but rather it coincides with having a unique perspective of the world. In terms of my artistic process, I’ve had trouble ridding my expectations and images of the final project in my head. I am much more successful when I play around with materials without a known finish line. I really appreciate the surprise factor in 3D art, and look forward to using the skills and processes I’ve learned in this class in future works.
