I chose blue as the color for my background because I thought it would make the piece more interesting without the color being too overwhelming. For the 3D aspect I used thicker white paper that came with our supply kits and ripped it up into strips. I used an x-acto knife to create more texture on the edge of the paper. I also chose to make the strips of paper get taller as they moved further away from the center.
